Fine Art in Biomedical Art and Visualization

The Rowan University Bachelor of Fine Art in Biomedical Art and Visualization is one of the few undergraduate disciplines of its kind in the country. The Biomedical Art and Visualization field is a unique area of study in a growing field of art, medicine, science, and technology. Biomedical Art and Visualization students combine artistic talent and strong visual communication skills with natural science and biomedical intellect. As a biomedical artist you will apply your knowledge of art, medicine science and technology to create educational illustrations, animations and interactive media for specific audiences.

MEDICAL ILLUSTRATION
Medical Illustration students will take classes from KCAD, Ferris State University, Grand Rapids Community College, and Michigan State University. Classes are scheduled year-round in order to take advantage of open schedules and facilities at MSU, and you can earn the degree in just three years. Our pre-professional program prepares students for graduate or professional level study.

The concentration in scientific illustration is designed for students who seek to develop the artistic skills and visual communication strategies necessary to effectively present complex and detailed scientific information.

CERTIFICATE IN NATURAL SCIENCE ILLUSTRATION
In this certificate program, you’ll learn to render detailed zoological and botanical illustrations using a variety of media. We’ll cover a comprehensive set of nature illustration skills using carbon dust, color pencil, stipple pen and ink, watercolor and gouache.
