Summary
Educational Resources in the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Georgia is pleased to announce that the deadline for receipt of applications to its Certificate in Comparative Medical Illustration program will be June 3rd, 2022. This 12-month program is designed for new graduates of medical illustration training programs. Students in the Certificate program are mentored by Ali Ennis, Brad Gilleland, Joe Samson, and Eli Ensor, four experienced veterinary illustrators in Educational Resources. Students in the program take graduate-level courses in the College of Veterinary Medicine, work directly with college faculty, and collaborate with staff members having expertise in medical photography/videography, 2D and 3D animation, interactive media programming, and graphic design to create new educational materials for use in the veterinary curriculum. Students participating in the program learn to use a variety of programs, including Cinema 4D or Maya, Z-Brush, Redshift, Corona Renderer, Unity, Hype, OsiriX, iBooks Author and Adobe CC. They may become involved in new interactive projects that involve the use of the HTC Vive, augmented reality apps, or 3D printing. Many of the educational materials created by students in the program are featured in Apple Books developed in collaboration with faculty members in the College.
